The oceanfront Hilo Naniloa Hotel and Golf Club on Banyan Drive will be rebranded later this year as the DoubleTree by Hilton Hilo-Naniloa following an $18.5-million renovation.
“The 12-story, 3-tower, 388-room property plans to fully convert in December 2015,” Hilton Worldwide, which owns DoubleTree by Hilton, said in a statement Monday.
The property will feature 388 rooms, 20 suites, meeting space and a ballroom. Other amenities include entertainment venue Willie K’s at The Crown Room, a “farm to table” restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a health club, golf course and outdoor pool, according to a release.
“We are more than excited for the city of Hilo and Big Island tourism,” Ed Bushor, president of Tower Development, which owns the hotel, said in a statement. “Our conversion to the first national hotelier in Hilo and Hilton Worldwide’s DoubleTree by Hilton brand will change the landscape of tourism and hospitality in Hilo.”
